- Generation Dayton, JumpstART, Habitat for Humanity, Wayne Ave Corridor Committee, Downtown Street Buzz. I've volunteered with several businesses to re-build playgrounds in under privileged areas.
- Hobbies and Interests:
- I love giving back to community, especially when children are involved. To see the excitement on a kid's face when you're helping to re-build an old playground is well worth the hours of work that goes into it. I also enjoy a good beer, fine wine and great conversation.(That sounds like a cheesy pick-up line, but it's the truth)
- Favorite Area Eatery:
- South Park Tavern on a Monday night! I can't forget to mention the Dublin Pub "fries".
- Favorite Weekend Activity:
- Honestly...I love getting up Sunday mornings, making breakfast, and spending a few hours with the morning paper.
- What do you love about Dayton?
- I really enjoy living downtown. Within a 10 minute walk I can be at either Riverscape, Schuster Center, Oregon District, or catch a Dragon's game. There is always something going on.
- How has Generation Dayton aided your professional, personal and/or social development?
- When I first moved to Dayton, I really didn't know a lot of people. I volunteered to help on Gen Dayton Day and I was so impressed with how friendly and committed these people were, that I signed up a week later. I don't get a chance to attend most of the morning and afternoon events, due to the fact I work in Springfield, but I make it a point to attend as many activities as possible.
- Tell us a little more about your profession and company.
- Security National Bank is a smaller community-based bank mainly located throughout Champaign, Clark, Greene, and Madison County As a collections analyst for the bank, my position is to monitor and assess the risk and viability of existing accounts. I coordinate collections calls and organize customer visits to obtain unpaid accounts receivable. If default is due to economic difficulties, I can assist to create a new payment timetable.
- What do you enjoy about your career/profession? Employer?
- When I first started in collections, I was a little unsure about what I was getting into, but I was very impressed with the attitude and friendliness of everyone at the bank. Plus, being that we're a 'neighborhood' bank, we are willing to work with you. We are not the typical 'beat down your door, show up at your work" type of collections. I think that's what I enjoy the most, the ability to help someone out of a tough situation.
