- What do you love about Dayton?
- It’s a very livable city! I love to walk, bike, and when I must drive, it is rare to be stuck in traffic. I also appreciate that so many current business and community leaders are open to the value in welcoming young professionals to the table and grooming the next generation of leaders.
- How has Generation Dayton aided your professional, personal and/or social development?
- Generation Dayton has provided me with leadership opportunities, such as the opportunity within the organization to build the program as it exists today, as well as opportunities outside of the organization like the opportunity to serve as a young professional representative on the recent Five Rivers MetroParks levy campaign cabinet. Personally and socially, it is how I met and connected with so many other like-minded young professionals in this community (hundreds now), as well as business and community leaders.
- Tell us a little more about your profession and company.
- I defend claims, civil lawsuits, and handle liquor cases on behalf of the City Attorney. The City of Dayton, Ohio, the birthplace of aviation, is the sixth largest city in Ohio. It was founded on April 1, 1976, and it became the first large city in the United States to adopt the council-manager system of city government in 1913. Dayton is one of two Ohio cities to be designated bronze level bike-friendly by the League of American Bicyclists.
- What do you enjoy about your career/profession? Employer?
- The research, writing, analytical and advocacy skill set of a legal education is invaluable to me. I enjoy putting those skills to use for the urban core of the Dayton Region and the ability to walk to and from work is just icing on the cake.
- Favorite quote or inspirational saying:
- Never be satisfied with the status quo.
