How has Generation Dayton aided your professional, personal and/or social development?: Gen D is a great way to meet likeminded individuals with similar goals and professional aspirations. After living in the New York City area for a while and moving back, it was great to find a group of people that had these same goals & then developed into friendships! Gen D also strives to make their members wholly rounded individuals through various programming events, speakers and social events each month.
Tell us a little more about your profession and company...: Aegean Apparel is a wholesale apparel company. Started in 1991 with a specific line of bathrobes and sleepwear being sold to retailers throughout the US, such as Macy's and Dillards, Aegean Apparel has grown to include more lines including bath and beach towels, women's and men's t-shirts, tote bags and accessories. Our label is carried now throughout department and specialty stores throughout the US, Canada, Europe and even in Japan and Korea! We also have launched a retail website, www.gapsretail.com within the past year, which has been very successful as well.
What do you enjoy about your career/profession? Employer?: I have been with my company for over 7 years and have been given great opportunities which have allowed me to develop both professionally and personally. I really like meeting new people and my position has allowed me to travel to new, interesting cities and meet a lot of wonderful people. My employer allows me to have input on such things as product development, developing new business contacts, and marketing our line. This allows me to wear "many different hats" which means there's never a dull day!
